It’s about time for Edwin Jackson to finally win a game. After about a thousand no-decisions, maybe it would be nice if he finally put one into the win column.
What to watch for: The Rays should be able to pound on Steve Trachsel. Moreover, between him and Edwin Jackson, this game will last FOREVER.
Scouting Report on today’s starters from MLB.com:
Edwin Jackson – Jackson has electric stuff, which brings the expectations of future greatness and just lately he has shown signs of finding the consistency that he has never been able to find. On Sunday against the Cardinals, he allowed one run on six hits and four walks while striking out seven in 5 1/3 innings. Despite surrendering just one run in his last 21 innings, Jackson has not managed to get a decision. He is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in three career appearances against the O’s; he has not faced them this season.
Steve Trachsel - Trachsel was bumped for the last two times through the rotation and will slot right back in between Jeremy Guthrie and Daniel Cabrera. The veteran has struggled this season and has been knocked out before completing four innings three times in seven starts.
