The Boston Red Sox just lost to the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-0, meaning that the Rays are the SOLE OWNERS of first place in the American League East by about .005 points. And it’s May. Great times, folks.

Rays have the best record (7-3) in the American League for the past ten games. Keep on rolling!

Yeah, you are right, but their record in the last 10 is 8-2!

Sorry, I botched it up…yes 8-2, making me even happier. Now they need production from both RF and CF consistently, even with Bossman out.

And just think, 1st place, with a leadoff hitter with an OBP lower than .280, a clean up hitter hitting just mendoza, and without the staff ace… plus injuries galore… It can only get better…

But is a pitching staff trade coming soon?
May 2nd, 2008 at 10:13 am
With the current staff quality plus Niemann in the wings, I suspect that Al Reyes may go or a trade involving EJaX or Hammel is not far off. There are lots of teams that need pitching.

I don’t think Reyes should go, it is possible his stuff had been limited due to his injury, and we all remember how amazing he was last year, having 2 amazing closers, one who we can use as a set up man, what could be better? Not to mention Percival can’t go all season, we need to ensure everything in that bullpen is stacked. But I do agree some sort of trade has to happen.

teams seam to be salivating over Edwin, and I think they should listen…

Well, tonight is another chance for EJaX to either win/lose a starting role with the team. It is also another opportunity for the Rays to showcase EJaX for a weekend trade.

I really don’t think Edwin’s going to be traded right now. The team didn’t stick with him this long just to trade him when he starts looking good.

Scott I have said this a hunfred times on all the different blogs. I don’t see why all the fans want this either.
