The fact that the Rays had discussions about Bonds isn’t news – just as it wasn’t last month when this came up the first time – because MANY teams have probably had discussions about him. Not sure why when WE discuss him its news but any other board-room discussions about him aren’t news.
The interesting news is the Union deciding to investigate why he hasn’t been offered a contract. I don’t think there’s much of a collusion case, but the MLBPA has made up crazier things before.

What could the outcome of such an investigation be? The Union saying, “All right guys. Somebody really should sign this guy?”
