The Bolts are spiraling out of control and the Bucs seem to have reached a plateau of mediocrity. I truly think that the Rays have a real shot at becoming the premier franchise in Tampa Bay within the next two seasons. I’m not saying the Rays are going to make the playoffs this year like the Bucs did, they just seem to be on the launchpad of a meteoric rise while the Bucs and Bolts seem to have very little to look forward to.
Man this feels good to say with conviction.

I feel good about this team in 2008, and it feels good to say that.

If you are a Rays fan you have to be ecstatic about this year. For the first time you can really feel that there is some happing that was only a figment of our imagination before. This is real and the possibilities can be reached

I follow all 3 teams in the TB area- and have suffered since I was a kid. I think the Bucs did the right thing holding on to Allen and Gruden, and I tihnk the team did a lot with a little this season. It’s going to be way harder with a 1st place sched next season, but they have a butt-load of cap room to get a playmaker.
The Bolts have disapointed for sure, but seem to be playing well over the last 2 weeks, and could get themselves back into playoff seeding quickly if they continue to play like they have lately. NEED TO WIN ROAD GAMES!
The Rays, I have so much optimism for them this season, and it’s scattered all over this site in various places. The Rays won’t be the permiere team here until they beat the Sox or Yankees in an “important” post season series. That is the only way. Too much of those two teams idiot fans live in Tampa/ST. Pete, and to make this a Rays town you have to convert those people and more importantly those peoples kids to be Ray fans. People need to have memories of growing up going to Rays games and that will do wonders. Just takes time.
