1. Silva: Yes (Zeus protect us)
2. Fontenot: Yes (the 2nd Fontenot in Cubs history stays --Ray was the first, and they represent 67% of all major league Fontenots in MLB HISTORY!)
3. No (he'll spend 2 weeks in AAA to make up for lost time, then return to the big club)
4. Yes (effectively giving us a 24 player roster)
5. Yes (Odin save us)
6. No (in any other case this would be the right decision, but thanks to Kevin Millar, Hoffpauir finds himself in the ONLY POSSIBLE position to be justified in feeling slighted)

Wild, unsubstantiated, caffeine-fueled guesses...

1. Carlos Silva - Yes. (Pitches "well" enough for one early season start before being buried in bullpen.)

2. Mike Fontenot - Yes. (Has hot enough spring to convince Lou to try platoon w/Baker.)

3. Andres Blanco - Yes. (Recovers from knee injury to prove defensive value.)

4. Kevin Millar - No. (No room on 25-man. Requests unconditional release.)

5. Jeff Samardzija - Yes. (Loses rotation battle. Goes to bullpen.)

6. Micah Hoffpauir - No. (Leaves Cubs to play in Japan.)

I've done that to people who leave their devices unattended. I'll jump on some guy's computer and compose an Email professing devoted and faithful love to someone I know in their address book and watch what happens. The best part is not letting them know who did it.

And for those who don't know, Zell is saving a shit-ton of money on taxes because of the way the deal went down. When the Cubs were sold in 1980, the sold for 20M, in 2010 dollars that's 50M. So the team sold for 850M, and Zell is going to keep 750M after taxes by keeping a 5% stake that he'll probably sell once the economy gets better and because Ricketts borrowed. I don't think Ricketts leveraging the deal will be suicide for the Cubs like it was for Tribune, because they were in debt already.

On this day of mindless and random rambling, I want to share a few stories:
- I got a Terrelle Pryor jersey on eBay for 20 bucks yesterday
- I get to take a sports economics class at UIC next year, they finally brought that course back, maybe I'll be able to understand some of these things that happen in baseball. Then I could become VFTBs resident economist
- I was at Market Bar last night to watch the Bulls game, and I was on the pre-game show. I asked Bill Wennington who the best prankster was on the Bulls and what was the best prank pulled, he was like the equipment manager was the best prankster, but the best prank was him and Rodman put Bengay in Steve Kerr and Jud Buchelor's underwear, and on the bus ride to the airport on a trip, they felt their pants were burning.
