Game 64: Write Your Own Recap

I’m going to be honest with you and let you know that I didn’t get to see this game. I got tied up at worked and forgot to go online to set the DVR to record it. It’s hard to write a recap on a game you didn’t see so those that saw it, let’s get some discussion going in the comment section.

Some real gamer-grinder types showed a bunch of grit and moxie and were great in the clubhouse! Those guys really know how to win!

I didn’t see the game but after analyzing the box score we had a higher ZWAR and a better defensive DFIG which enabled the Cubs to win. Our OPS/MGG x C was significantly higher than the Red Sox which made the victory obvious.

Dempster continues to show that last season’s poor ERA was the result of a bad month and he is back to dominating left handers…last year lefthanders killed him.

Soriano is the only regular hitting in June.
Clevenger, Campana, and Mather have fallen back to Earth this month, Castro and DeJesus are really struggling. LaHair’s BABIP is regressing, along with it, his avg/obp/slg.

Dempster thinks this might have been his last game pitching as a Cub.
We’re probably 7-10 days away from Rizzo getting the call.

Contract Year Dempster strikes again. He looked good all game. For some reason Marmol was let on the mound in the ninth who loaded the bases and almost blew it. No wonder Dempster is okay with being traded, we’re using Marmol to chase him out.

I got to Tampa when it was in the 9th, my friend who likes Boston was like Cubs are up 3-0 in the 9th. I was like they’ll blow it. Shocked they didn’t.

I just stop watching it when Marmol takes the mound with a lead. I just can’t force myself to watch it. Maybe if I wasn’t emotionally invested in the Cubs, I could enjoy it, like you might enjoy watching a train wreck.

I would watch it with the sort of joy you have on Christmas morning around age 7.

hahahahahahhahahaa YES!!!! Just like I was in 2005, when the White Sox almost blew it. That was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I was really hoping they would blow it that year.

Bill Buckner swatted a homer and two doubles and Bruce Sutter struck out all six batters he faced, leading the Cubs to a 6-2 victory over Dave Parker and the pesky Pittsburgh Pirates.
