Morning News: Advisory Panel

Written by , Posted in General

This morning’s news is short and sweet, but very much needed and appreciated. As we head into the season in just a few months, my mind is always working with ideas on how we can improve the reader experience. I like to get feedback on my thoughts to help weed out the many dumb ones and mine for the few good ideas I have. That’s where you come in. I want to get your feedback when I have thoughts. If tyou’re willing to be included in an advisory committee for the site, I want to hear from you. It would be a list of people I’d send an e-mail to asking for opinions, suggestions and overall feedback on things related to the site. If that’s something that interests you, please send an e-mail to joe@viewfromthebleachers.com with your VFTB name and I’ll add you to the list.

Thanks for reading and for being the reason why we all enjoy doing this year in and year out. For me, this will be season number nine writing about Cubs baseball. It’s been a long journey.

WHAT’S ON JOE’S IPOD?

  • chuck

Dude, you’ve got some big brass ones for admitting that you still listen to Boyz II Men.

  • Joe

@chuck – That’s why the ladies love me. In all seriousness, I love Boyz II Men. Have you heard their Mowtown CD? It’s outstanding, as is Throwback.

  • MJ

I have that album. It’s still one of the best out there.

  • Smitty

Im with chuck here..my wife listens to that and I can’t wrap my head around it. don’t get me wrong, i love motown and soul and things of that nature. But I tend to stick to the early to mid 60s if I’m listening to motown. Anything, especially the late 70s and beyond, was terrible out of that genre. Obviously just my opinion, but I thought I’d throw my two cents in. onto the main reason for this post. obviously its the offseason and what coverage you guys do provide is stellar. For those of us who haven’t been reading this year in and year out, I should think it best to maybe wait until the season begins to ask how you should change things. There isn’t enough going on to really say much good or bad right now. As of right now, I say don’t change a thing.

  • @Joe…refreshing to see something with soul pop up on your playlist. I am like Smitty in regards to Motown…very tough to beat that era. I do find myself listening to Maxwell (way too) often, and thinking that maybe his music should appeal more to middle aged women and less to me. He comes absolutely unglued on some tracks though…

  • cap’n obvious

Smitty…if you start back to back sentences with “obviously,” you might think of changing your tag to something like colonel obvious, or major obvious, or something amazingly cool like that…

  • Buddy

Early Genesis is playing in Buddyland today. “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” to be exact.
