“The Cubs announced Friday that Carlos Zambrano will not return to the team this season but will be paid for the remainder of September when his stint on the disqualified list ends on Sept. 12. The announcement said Zambrano’s grievance has not yet been resolved, but there is “insufficient preparation time” for him to pitch again in 2011. Zambrano will remain at home and the grievance will be processed during the offseason.”
