The Cubs’ 2011 schedule is posted on cubs.com. If you could pick any three games to see this season (home or away) which would you choose and why?
July 8/9/10 @ Pittsburgh, just before the all-star break. I understand they have a sweetheart ball park walking distance from downtown hotels. I should be able to get great seats without breaking the bank. Plus we’re going to pay them back for that BS record against them last year.
August 19th and 20th vs. the Cardinals. In the bleachers. Air and Water Show Weekend. Always the best time. April 1st against Pittsburgh. Opening Day vs. Pittsburgh…we should win that one at least. Probably won’t…but we should.
How cool would it be to win April Fool’s Day against Pitt and be above .500, something foreign to the Cubs since 2009. Or will the joke be on……
June 24-26 in KC. Only 25-30 miles from where I live, and it’ll be the first time I’ve ever seen the Cubs play in person.
July 18-20, vs. PHI. Bound to see a great pitching performance.
I’d like to post up next to Buddy. That series would be awesome. Side note: how awful is that cubs.com site? It is a web2.0 mess…takes forever to load with all of that embedded crap.
July 1/2/3 vs. the White Sox in the bleachers. Inciting trouble with White Sox fans is my specialty. If you watch this video from when we won the division in 2007, you can see I started up the White Sox suck chant. I have the Wrigley Field shirt, Cubs hat, and a beard:
But my first game of the year will be April 8 vs. the Brewers, I’m going to drive up to Milwaukee for it. I love being in the northern suburbs of Chicago. A 75 mile drive from my joint. I got a friend who lives in Round Lake, halfway between both cities, he can make the drive in 30 minutes.
TP at first I thought you meant the white guy with the half beard and was going to blast the beard, but I figured it out later.
The series I usually go to as they as easy trips from the west coast are Denver and Arizona. Both of these trips are in April and thus I likely won’t go to either. Best choice if actual attendance was not involved, would of course, be Fenway.
Choice 1: The series of the world sometime in late October in Wrigley Field.
Choice 2: The series of the national league championship series in mid October in Wrigley Field.
Choice 3: The series of round 1 of the playoffs Sept 30, Oct 1-3 in Wrigley Field.
Choice 4: The series in AZ in April. Love the desert in the spring and a visit to Cooperstown for a pregame and postage cocktail is always fun.
