Wednesday Would-You-Rather

It’s Would-You-Rather Wednesday! I’ll post some options, you decide which you’d rather. Please weigh your options, explain your choices and most of all have fun as we await the second of three with the Dandy Dodgers!

Would you rather the Cubs be competitive all season and miss out on the playoffs by a game or two, or would you rather they be out of it completely by August?
Would you rather fire Jim Hendry, Lou Piniella, neither, or both?
Would you rather watch the season finale of Dancing With the Stars, or stick your arm into an oscillating fan?
If you had to choose one or the other and you were getting the same return regardless, would you rather trade Carlos Zambrano or Carlos Silva?
Lee DeWyze or Crystal Bowersox?

be out of it by august – i am getting too old to have my hopes dragged out thru the dog days of summer, better to heart ripped quick and then concentrate on ‘da Bears and fantasy football

fire lou – anyone who continually bats someone .160 anywhere near the cleanup spot needs to be taken out back and put to pasture

zambrano – his ridiculous contract is for more years than Silva’s

I’d rather the Cubs were competitive all season (or rather, the rest of the season, since it is too late for all season….).

At this time, I do not see the point in firing anyone, UNLESS there is a premium replacement available.

I’d rather stick my arm in the fan.

Fan. One of those indellible memories is of stupid human tricks on the Letterman show, where a guy stopped a moving fan blade with his tongue. Safe in one direction, messy in the other.
Trade Z. He may have the higher upside, but i’m tired of waiting for it.
Crystal looked better. (Mrs Butts likes it, and I can stomach watching it with her).

1. Out of it… Even knowing we had a shot at post-season, you know they wouldn’t contend.

2. Neither. I like the job Hendry is doing (assuming we nix the no-trade clauses), and Lou is done soon regardless.

3. If I can make a fist, the fan…. There is no way it can stand that much interference for a prolonged period of time.

4. Sh!t… Silva, hands down! You can’t EVEN begin to compare the two (with the exception of weight).

5. WhoTF are these two clowns? Suxx minor leaguers?

Just miss the playoffs- hope followed by heartbreak is the romance of being a Cubs fan!
Hendry- I’ve seen too many mediocre veterans come based on what they’ve done, instead of getting players based on what they will probably do.
Fan- if you do it right you can slow down the blades so it won’t hurt too much.
Zambrano- then they can go sign an ace with the savings.
Don’t know who those are.

1) Be competitive. It’s in my nature.

2) Fan, because I’ve done it, and escaped with a bruise.

3) Silva. Trading Z would unload salary, but I have a feeling it would come back to haunt us. He’s still young and due to return to form.

4) I’m assuming that’s American Idol. That show needs to be put out to pasture. But if I had to pick, I’ll go with Lee because there’s no way Bowersox will make it with that unfortunate last name.

Hendry. He’s had his chance, but pillaging the Pirates and now the Mariners is about all he’s done

Fan. The pain from that would end quicker than watching DwtS.

Silva. Sell high, and I’m still a sucker for Z’s potential
