Nice week for me as I continue to watch all my off-season dreams come true. Most people make a wish list of players they’d like their team to acquire. Not me. Instead I composed a list of people I want to be rid of. So far so good, my list was (in order) as follows:
1.) Kevin Gregg (all but gone)
2.) Aaron Heilman (gone)
3.) Aaron Miles (gone)
4.) Milton Bradley (fingers crossed)
Even if my #4 doesn’t pan out, I’m still a happy gal with the moves made so far. How about you? Are you happy with the moves the Cubs have made to date? What else would you like to see?
On to the Lizzies. Happy to see you were a little more verbose this week!
Lizzies
- The Cubs need to draw a balance between rushing Castro to the big leagues (i.e., Patterson-style) or leaving him in the minors and then showing no patience with him once he’s up (i.e., Pie-style).
- I swear to you, if [lack of need] is the main factor behind this decision I’ll kick Hendry in the onions.
- I don’t think Fontenot’s non-tender is quite so automatic at the moment.
- Thank Christ AAAron Miles is gone, that is a nice stocking stuffer to start the Christmas season.
Lizard
- It just goes to prove that for every gorgeous person out there, there is somebody who is tired of having sex with them.

If and when Bradley is finally traded, I might toast to the occasion with a beer. I mean root beer. I don’t drink. Or I might do what I do when the Cubs win their first game every year and walk down my dorm blaring Go Cubs Go on my computer
BuckeyeCub- you only blare your computer on the first Cub win of the year, not every win? Shame on you.
You got it right Lizzie, addition by subtraction this offseason. Curious, do you want to include Soriano in that list but just realize it is futile to try and trade a .240 hitter with 24,856 K’s in a year and $100M left on his contract?
I will hold my celebration until Bradley is gone from the Cubs roster.
I also blare it in my dorm for big wins, like a big comeback or wins over the White Sox or Cardinals. On my floor, I am like one of the only Cubs fans
Doc, ABSOLUTELY!
Me too Lizzie, me too.
Not to be a wet blanket, but what sort of trade would one envision to get ALF a new destination? To the white sox for peavy sending $50 million along with him?
We realistically need to hope ALF gets out of last years funk and is productive, If he blames it on a hurting knee, whatever, just get better. Trading Miltie is a piece of cake compared to trading ALF.
Oh you’re not a wet blanket Seymour … I know we’re stuck with him!!
