		<description>I think you are wrong, batting has almost nothing to do with the Fold Glove winners. Obviously the best of outfielders do it on both ends of the ball and therefor it may appear that the winners are &quot;good with the stick&quot; but if they were horrible batters then they wouldn&#039;t get the chance to make the great defensive plays.</description>

		<description>Perception and offensive play have a lot to do with it too. Why is it that all the gold glove winners are also good with the stick? A lot of these guys who win gold gloves tend to be on web gems. Edmonds is someone that comes to mind. He wasn&#039;t a very good outfielder, and he ran bad routes on the balls and played fairly shallow, and in St. Louis, he was able to rob HRs, where as you can&#039;t do that at Wrigley, unless you climb the wall. Because he played shallow and took bad routes, he had to compensate by diving for the ball, which looks more spectacular than it is. When a player dives all out for a ball, it means that he wasn&#039;t positioned right and/or he took a bad path to the ball. Had he been positioned right, he would have made the catch standing up, and it wouldn&#039;t be on web gems</description>
