I felt that the article was amusing and agreed with most of it (although agreement is not necessary – we should all be free to state our opinions.) There was nothing bitter or accusatory in Joe’s post and that is something that we should all endeavor toward. Let’s have some fun folks

Insofar as lots of teams chomping at the bit for Milton Bradley I think this might be the Cubs talking in background trying to drum up interest. I’m glad they are because it’s going to be very difficult to get rid of a guy with a ten million dollar a year contract and a twenty million dollar a year mouth. Also worth note was the lack of Cubs on the prospects list, we can do better than that. Heilman and Cotts should be Cubs history.

Honestly, fat/weed jokes about Geo went lame somewhere around the All-Star break. Maybe you intend them to be good-humored, but they come across as bitter and mean. Soto wouldn’t be the first successful rookie to go through a sophomore slump. How about we give him another season to redeem himself? Would that be too much to ask? This approach seemed to work out well for Troy Tulowitzki.

The manner in which many Cubs fans have turned on Geo – even knowledgable ones like you, apparently – just makes me sad. Thanks for the DLee article, though. I enjoyed that.
