I read somewhere that Bradley won’t have played in enough games for his contract to vest the third year, that the Cubs could buy out his 2011 for $2 million. If this is true Bradley just made an $8 million mistake running his mouth. Anybody know if this is true?

I’m glad the Cubs’ management grew a pair and suspended him; hopefully he’ll run his mouth again and earn the restricted list. If he comes back next year I hope Piniella sits him on the bench every day and never plays him. Ever. He can go into his free agent year having not played for over a year, take that Milton Bozo!

This is the first good news from the Cubs in the entire month of September. I think Bradley’s contract vested after he played his 75th game.

But from today’s Sun-Times: A clause in his contract nullifies the final year of the deal if he (1) finishes the 2009 season on the DL specifically because of the knee and (2) is still unable to play because of the knee by April 15, 2010.

I hope they placed him on the disqualified list, the way the Nationals would have done to Soriano had he refused to play LF. Not only does he lose his salary, but he loses service time as well

This is a good sign. Hopefully, they will part ways in the offseason one way or another.

Pardon my French but we really do need a way to dump this assclown. He’s the worst Cub since Todd Hundley, a real bad apple in the cider. I would be in favor of paying him to stay home if necessary.

I wonder if there is a way to get rid of him and still get talent in return the way we did turning Hundley into Karras and Grudz

his contract vested many weeks ago because he hit the minimum number of games already.

  • Terrelle Pryor 2

What an idiotic contract. 75 games was all he needed

  • Terrelle Pryor 2

LMAO. The Cubs website still lists him as active

  • Good start. Now how do we suspend Aaron Miles and Kevin Gregg? Even after losing the closer job, Gregg manages to blow another save. And Lou must really like Miles, who cannot hit a lick, as he let Miles bat late with men on base, a lefty pitching, and Jeff Baker on the bench. “Lou” rhymes with “clue” but I don’t think Lou has one.

^ Yep. And the Cubs losing is all Bradley’s fault…..
