Random Decade Leaderboards

Written by , Posted in General

Had some free time. I wanted to have a little fun and take a look at the decade leaderboards for a few categories. Here is what I found.

Strikeout Leaders

Stolen Base Leaders

Homerun Leaders

Hit Leaders

Anything stand out to you? Surprise you?

  • where can we vent about Rex Cutler?

  • Seymour Butts

Nothing surprises me, I’m a Cub fan.
Lets see… could it be that power hitters strike out a lot??? or that Strike out victims have power??? or that Corey Patterson was a 5’6″ 170 lb power hitter??? or that Sammy didn’t steal much (other than souls)???
I give up….as have we all.

  • MJ

Jimmy V said, “don’t give up, don’t ever give up.”

    But he’s dead.

  • Isn’t Corey spelled with a K? Korey Patterson I always thought.

Juan Pierre stole 58 bases in one year?

  • 58 steals? I don’t remember being on base 58 times in 06 let alone swiping 58.

  • Holy poopballs batman! Jake Fox is actually playing and the starting left-fielder…Scales must’ve lost that picture of himself and Mrs. Pinella…

  • Mastrick

I wasn’t surprised with Patterson’s stolen bases or K’s but I was surprised with his hits. BTW Donald had a very good minor league season for Syracuse and Nashville hittine .292 with 21 stolen bases and an .811 OPS. Since being called up by Milwaukee he is hitting .091 with 10 strikeouts in 22 at bats.

Ramirez only has 61 more Ks as a Cub than Soriano and he’s been here 3 and a half seasons longer. It really speaks volumes about Soriano’s lack of discipline at the plate, just how much of a wild swinger he is. They say singles hitters drive Fords and home run hitters drive Cadillacs. They ought to also add, strikeout machines drive clunkers, which is what Soriano, or any wild swinging strikeout machine should drive. If Soriano didn’t have any power, he would join the ranks of Neifi, Macias, Bako, Tubby, etc.

  • If Soriano didn’t have any power, he would join the ranks of Neifi, Macias, Bako, Tubby, etc.

So? He does have power, so that is pretty irrelevant. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to take away a player’s best attribute in order to make him look worse.

Further, your point isn’t even accurate.

    BA/OBP:
    Neifi – .267/.297
    Macias – .256/.298
    Bako – .230/.303

    Soriano – .278/.326

Soriano’s #’s aren’t great, or even good, but they are not Neifi/Macias/Bako territory either.

  • Terrelle Pryor 2

They are pretty bad though. I’m just saying that Soriano is really overrated and expose him for how bad he really is. He is the most overrated player in my opinion.

  • Seymour Butts

Terrelle, nobody drives Caddy’s anymore…except maybe in Ohio.

  • Terrelle Pryor 2

You’re crazy, dude. I see plenty of Cadillacs in Chicago. Ricketts has an Escalade I believe, and Zambrano and Soto got Escalades. So therefore, we can deduce that there are at least 2 people who do drive Cadillacs

  • Seymour Butts

    You’re crazy, dude

Yeah, but I amuse myself…just flippi9ng you crap.

Anybody notice the Cubs have been playing baseball lately?

  • Terrelle Pryor 2

The Cubs have been playing baseball? Really, I didn’t know. For you see, I have been on Mars for the last month. Just like I didn’t know that the sun rose today

  • Ricketts has an Escalade I believe, and Zambrano and Soto got Escalades. So therefore, we can deduce that there are at least 2 people who do drive Cadillacs

I think we can deduce Terrelle isn’t a math major. Ricketts, Zambrano and Soto make three.

My mom had Cadillacs in both eyes, vision at about 20/100, after Cadillac surgery she was 20/20.

  • Terrelle Pryor 2

I think we can deduce that Juan Pierre can’t read. I said I believe Ricketts has one, but can’t confirm it. I can confirm Soto and Zambrano (I’ve seen them in the player lot after games). That makes 2 that I am 100% certain about

  • MJ

I’m 100% sure this entire conversation is totally stupid.
