I’m going to leave a full recap to Joe or one of the other writers. But I would like to comment briefly on some of the worst defensive baseball I’ve seen in quite a while. The Cubs looked like the old Keystone Cubs with Sammy Sosa, Moises Alou et al in the fourth, they did not even look like a mediocre AA team on defense. Of course when you make that many idiot plays in one inning it comes back to bite you – for the Cubs it was a blown 2-0 lead and a 4-2 deficit. I hope the Cubs go on to lose this game and go two games down to the Cards, who presently have a 5-1 lead in their game.

They need to get a cause/effect understanding for sloppy unprofessional baseball, some actual defensive practice might be beneficial too. I know that *real* professional players don’t need this but for some inexplicable reason the Japanese do it every game. Tighten up Cubbies, this is MLB baseball!
