I liked the Fox/Hoffa part. I thought Soriano sat in game 1? Forgive me if my recollection of line up one was in error. If I had my preference Fox, Hoffa, Lee and Aram are all in the line up. Fuld, RJ and Fukudome worked in and if Fox can catch some that would be great.

You could sit Soriano and Bradley and play all 4 of them which is what I would prefer.

But that isn’t what you said. You said you liked the first lineup (With Fox, Hoffpauir, and Bradley, Soriano) and didn’t like the second (With Lee, Ramirez, and Bradley, Soriano).

In other words, you would rather have Fox/Hoffpauir than Lee/Ramirez.

I would rather have Bradley in the lineup than Fox or Hoffpauir, but at this point I have no problem with Fox getting at-bats over Soriano, or especially K. Hill.

With the feeble offense the Cubs have been dealing with I think taking a chance on some inferior defense is worth it to find some offensive spark.

Seeing that they are ranked towards the bottom anyway, just do it.

You could sit Soriano and Bradley and play all 4 of them which is what I would prefer. I also liked seeing Fox behind the dish so that opens up another position for him. Fox impresses me with his AB’s. His bat has a lot of pop in it. He makes good contact and I believe he can help bring this lathargic offense to life. Soriano’s bat looks slow to me, he looks like he is swinging a telephone pole. I know he has always swung a big bat but it now looks to big for him.

Facing a better pitcher, having slumping hitters in your line up, it is a bad combination. Really.

I did not like the game 2 line up, we could of won 2 today with some offense.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that the Cubs were facing a much better pitcher in the second game?

I’d like to see us keep Patton but we have to consider what’s best in the long run.

My guess is that Hendry thinks Patton is good for the long run.

I liked the line up in game 1 today with Fox and Hoffa and we won that game and scored some runs. I did not like the game 2 line up, we could of won 2 today with some offense.

I was speaking about the long term. I’d like to see us keep Patton but we have to consider what’s best in the long run. Despite the mediocre season we’re in okay shape in the loss column.

even if that means returning Patton to the Rockies in order to bring up another guy.

Huh? Patton is on the DL – he isn’t blocking anyone or anything right now.
