Since I don’t want to get excited about the fact that we’ve won 3 of 4 and saw D-Lee have almost 1/2 of Milton’s RBI total in one night, I decided to present two fun things for you to discuss this morning as we wait for the afternoon round 2 affair.
- Brainstorm
all the ways possible for a pitcher to pitch a no-hitter, and yet still lose the game.
- Trivia Question: Name the only two active Major League players to lead their league in HR and Average (not necessarily in the same year) at some point in their career.

Saw this the other day in the minors. 1st inning, pitcher walks the 1st 2 batters. Balks to advance them. Sac fly cashes in one and throwing error the other. 2- 0. Pitcher settles down. Didn’t get the no-no but it held through 5.
Is this a trick question? Is Manny considered “active”? Because he’s one of them. I think the other is either Andruw Jones, or Chipper Jones. Can’t remember if Chipper ever led the league in homers…
Dropped third strike. Stolen base. Sac bunt. Sac fly.
I’m thinking Pujols is one of the two.
I would consider Active as anyone who is not retired.
I don’t think Albert has a homer title…
I’m going with Manny and Andruw. Final answer.
One is definitely ARod. Can’t believe no one mentioned him.
The other is Manny.
Pujols is on pace to become the third.
Manny & A-Rod…..Well done
Forgot about A-Rod winning the batting title as a Mariner. He was smaller then…I didn’t recognize him.
I got my Jones’ mixed…Chipper for the batting title and Andruw for homers.
Walking a ton of batters.
Errors.
HBP
I’m not excited either after 2 in a row over the Brewers, because I expect the Cubs to play well with the talent they have on the roster.
I have to believe, it’s what I am.
