I missed the game yesterday. What did I miss? Let’s talk it up!!! In the meantime, here is a picture that made me laugh out loud at work.

I’d love to put a radio at my desk, but the reception is horrendous. Who would of thought that in downtown Chicago, you couldn’t get WGN?
D-Lee hit a homer everyone, and went 3 for 4. Where’s all the hate today?
It has nothing whatsoever to do with hate. If you don’t see that he’s not the same hitter he was in 2005, and that he ought not be batting third, well, you’re not paying attention. He’s still a good player, and a terrific first baseman, but he should be hitting sixth.
He stays hot and keeps driving the ball? You can always move him back to the three hole. No law against rearranging the lineup. Two good games doesn’t mean he’s back…
Although, that said, hopefully it does!
You’re right. He’s not the same hitter as he was in 2005. In fact, he never was before that either.
That year was a apparition. Deal with it people. He’s saying in the three hole. And I’ll gladly take his career .290ish average 20+ homers there.
You are right about 2005 being an apparition. It was the only season he was a plus-type #3 hitter. The Cardinals hit Pujols there, the Cubs have Lee. I was brought up with Billy Williams in the 3-hole. It would be nice to have that kind of production.
By the way, D Lee did go 3-for-4 yesterday with all three hits after the proverbial horse was out of the barn. He took strike 3 in the first inning with two on and the runners going, running into an easy DP. That was when we needed a hit. I agree with sixth, not higher.
One of the wire services had the same photo from the other direction. Taped inside the glove is a love note from his “old pal Roger” telling him to keep his trap shut.
I was going to mention that MLB.TV’s coverage has a near HD picture that I follow from my desk, but realized it’s probably blacked out in Chicago. Of course the down side to living on the West coast is that trips to Wrigley are few and far between, but there are many upsides.
Speaking of the Cubs, wasn’t that Angel Guzman at his finest today? I love that guy like I love acid reflux!
