Barry? Not really a player anymore though...

Now it would have to be Gary Sheffield.

I despise Jose Valverde so I am very happy to not have to see that guy at any point during the last 2 days. Last year, during the NLDS, that guy made me so angry. Is their another player that anyone despises as much as I despise Valverde???

Again, not offended. All I’m trying to say is that it’s beneath you, and the traditional writing on this site.

Steve-O, it's praise like this that's nice to hear. Gracias!

You’re using an Obama slogan in relation to the Cubs? That’s just pathetic. I don’t want to be harsh, but you’re better than that.
Heh... sorry it offended you.

But it was intentional. And it was a joke.

Steve-O, I think you described yourself perfectly when you admitted to taking dave's words a bit too seriously. I can't speak for him or anyone here, but I'm willing to bet real money that no one was thinking of anything even remotely political last night or this morning. We were thinking about a no-hitter and maybe a magic number.

On to more important things. Wasn't it funny last night at the beginning of the game when Len and Bob thought the radar gun was badly calibrated?? Who knew!! They did admit their faux pas during today's pre-game chatter. That Pat Hughes comment quoted above is GREAT!

I will be at Thursday's game. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's the clincher, but even if it isn't I'm thrilled to be going!

I wasn't really looking. "Yes we can" has been used by him since February or so, and I'm willing to bet that it was intentional.

I know I'm taking this too seriously, but really...to compare the Cubs's season to a presidential campaign? That's a little sad.

I totally missed any Obama relation. I guess if you're looking for something, you'll find it.
