I'm hoping Hoffpauir's hitting will carry over to the bigs, and that will help me forget about Daryle Ward more quickly.

I am a Marquis hater. I admit it. But even I will shut up now. He has been doing a fine job and I eat all previous words.

No, it would not be a failure.

It, would, however, be a disappointment.

Sori = fantastic

I was born in 1937 and I remember '69 very well. I have to admit that I am very worried about this month of September. My worry is based on so many away games against top teams; and of course the injuries to key pitchers...As far as playoffs go if the Cubs make it, there is absolutely NO WAY that either Howry or Ward would be on my playoff roster. There is absolutely no way that either of them, along with Michael WORST, would be on the Cub roster next season either. I hope the Cubs can make an old man happy by finally winning and getting into the World Series.

Thanks for talking me off the ledge! I agree, this is NOT the 1969 Cubs! This is a team with some stress on it's starting pitching and had a bout of batting drought. But September is like this and the Brewers have not faired (sp?) any better. So the bottom line is we are a post season worthy team!
