My only thoughts to Lou letting Big Z take his at bat was that he wanted to try and get him a win or he was going for back to back complete games. Otherwise ya gotta pinch hit him. Jim Edmonds nice job. I am looking forward to seeing Reed Johnson take it to his former club Toronto!

I think Lou wanted to give Z every chance to come out with a win. I was a little leary of bringing him to the plate, but his hitting has spoken for itself. As it turned out, he swung at the first pitch and before I could finish the debate in my head, the ball was back in to the pitcher.

I have always been a fan of Edmonds back to when he was an Angel. These "fans" that want to trash a player just because he was a Cardinal are a giant joke. Does he have to implode Busch Stadium to get some of you folks to give up the "he's an ex-Cardinal" hate? I like players on other teams. I root against them when they play the Cubs, but I always like guys like Edmonds regardless of the uniform they wear. Even Darth Vader turned good by "Return of the Jedi", kiddies. He is busting his hump for OUR TEAM now.

Quade's waiving Ramirez around was questionable at best. The outfield was not that deep and the left fielder had the ball before Ramirez hit third. Barring a wild throw to home or a dropped ball on the potential collision, Aramis would have been a dead duck.

On to Toronto. The Jays have been struggling of late and I'm sure Reed wouldn't mind biting the hand that once fed him. Hopefully, we can get out road record closer to .500 after this series.

Why wouldn't you let Zambrano bat? He's hitting .362. Except for Hoffpauir (with only 20 at bats), nobody on the team has a better batting average. I'd have batted Z, too.

Love a good reference to my Alma Mater! Tim Hudson was on of the best to ever come through down here in Auburn. Anyhow, glad the Cubs won, but Hudson pitched a heck of a game and deserved better than what his teamates gave him

Loved the game, and agree that batting Z when having him on a short leash two minutes later makes no sense to me. Neither does putting Eric Patterson into LF or the leadoff spot. He looks a lot like only one other player -- his worthless brother -- to me. I do not see a major league player there.

Obviously Matt Murton is done as a Chicago Cub and apparently no one wants him either or there would have been a trade. I would rather play Reed Johnson a bit more -- although Lou certainly DID have him in the right place in the 11th inning! The Cubs CF spot had the sac fly, the HR, and the walkoff HBP for all three RBI. Many of us, myself included, were WRONG about Edmonds. He might really help us a lot down the stretch. A lot to be said for experience!
