With all the news coming out of Chicago about Benson, does the fact that it seems like the police roughed him up and got a little over zealous make you want to cheer for him more? Does it make you hate him less? To me, it eases some of the frustration I had with him over last year’s flop of a season and makes me want to see the Bears keep him on this roster to give him another chance.
From time to time, we’re going to use the diaries section for more random (not necessessarily) baseball stuff. Enjoy and remember to subscribe to the site using the tools in the left sidebar to always stay on top of every new post as it happens.

Benson is a punk. He has had numerous run-ins with the law before. Football wise (after all, he is Angelo’s baby; the reason we got rid of 1000yards a year Thomas to the NJ Jets), he has been a huge, expensive blistering bust. I say run with Forte and Peterson/Wolfe. Its time we show these unlawful, woman-beating, drug-addicted football players that crap will NOT be tolerated when they are making millions of dollars (though I realize that is a pipe dream).
I was honestly excited when I heard he’d been arrested because I thought it gave the Bears a chance to get rid of him. However, now that it seems his account of what happened is probably fairly accurate,I feel bad for him. I guess he deserves a chance to prove himself behind a hopefully improved O-line.
Haven’t read or seen his account…anyone know where I can find it?
This has no bearing whatsoever on what he is as a football player. He broke his ankle which means he’ll probably be even worse next year than he was last.
Screwed over or not, time to move on. He got his 8 figure payday to suck, enough is enough.
