Sevierville, Tennessee — The Tennessee Smokies Professional Baseball Club, the Class AA Southern League Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, have added RHP Jim Henderson to the active roster.

The 23-year-old is a native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is in his sixth season of professional baseball. The Chicago Cubs acquired Henderson in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft in December 2006. He was originally drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 26th round of the 2003 draft. Henderson has spent all of the 2008 season on the Smokies disabled list.

There is no corresponding move to report. The Smokies’ roster is at the maximum of 24 players.

Tennessee continues their long road swing with a five-game series beginning in Chattanooga tonight at 7:15 pm. The Smokies will return home on Saturday May 10th against the Huntsville Stars at 7:15 PM. Call 286-2300 for tickets or order on-line at www.smokiesbaseball.com.
