Scouting Report on todays starters from MLB.com
Jason Hirsh – Hirsh had his second consecutive rough outing in his last start, allowing five runs on seven hits while walking three over 5 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays. Hirsh has been enduring an up-and-down June. The 25-year-old allowed five runs over 4 1/3 innings on June 16 against the Rays, but in his start before that, Hirsh went the distance and allowed just one run against the Orioles. Hirsh has never faced the Cubs in his two-year career.

Carlos Zambrano – Zambrano is 3-1 with a 1.14 ERA in four starts since his “new season” began June 1. He matched his career high with 12 strikeouts against the White Sox in his previous start, giving up one run on three hits over eight innings. Zambrano was sharp in the outing, mixing his pitches well and displaying sharp movement on his breaking ball.
