Scouting Report on todays starters from MLB.com
Kyle Davies – A shaky four-run first inning kickstarted Davies’ undoing in his Sunday start against the Phillies, and he eventually allowed eight earned runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. It was a disappointing encore after allowing the Mets one run over eight innings May 22.
Carlos Zambrano – Zambrano is coming off a much-needed win against the Dodgers. He struck out eight and gave up two runs on eight hits over 7 2/3 innings in the game. Big Z walked just one, showing improvement from his earlier control struggles. He’s fared better away from Wrigley Field this season, going 4-1 on the road and 1-3 at home.
