Jason Marquis – Marquis may miss facing the Cardinals. He’s coming off wins in back-to-back starts against his former team, and both were quality outings. On Friday in St. Louis, he gave up three runs on five hits over 6 2/3 innings for the win. He’s 3-4 with a 3.86 ERA in his career against the Pirates.

Ian Snell – Snell is emerging as the ace of the staff. The 25-year-old right-hander upped his record to 2-1 as he hurled seven scoreless innings and gave up five hits as the Bucs beat the Reds, 3-1, on Friday at PNC Park. Snell has had a quality start in all five of his starts this season.
