Scouting Report on todays starters from MLB.com
Carlos Zambrano – Zambrano did not get a decision in his last start, a 5-4, 12-inning loss to the Brewers. Big Z hasn’t been as sharp as last season. Maybe he just needs time to warm up. He has struck out 23 in 27 1/3 innings, but has also walked 19 this season. Against Milwaukee, he threw 103 pitches in 5 1/3 innings, and he needs to get that under control if he’s going to go deep in games.

Adam Wainwright – Two starts may not a slump make, but there’s no doubt Wainwright is frustrated after a couple of subpar games. He’s done some things very well in his four Major League starts, but he’s also had some difficulties. Most notably, he’s walked at least three batters in every start thus far. That will need to change in order for Wainwright to be as effective as he can be.
