It looked as if the pirates just decided to use this game as a practice session for their pitchers and the Cubs hitters. The whole game it looked like the Cubs were just taking batting practice off the Pirates staff. Nothing was moving after it left the hands of the Pirate pitchers and the Cubs were hitting it hard. Really HARD!!! It was so nice to see the Cubs put up 10 runs and hold their opponent to 1 run through 7 innings on a day where the wind was blowing out.

There were some positives and negatives to this game.

1) Every position player in the lineup to start the game had a hit. (Positive)

2) Michael Barrett, who everyone is worried about hit two jacks and now is the team leader in RBI’s (Positive)

3) Zambrano pitched awesome again but this time got a win for it. (Positive)

4) The Cubs take 2 out of 3 and win their first series (Positive)

5) Weurtz got touched up again. ERA now = 5.68 (Bad)

6) Beltran got roughed up. ERA now = 10.80 (Ouch)

Player of the game today

The player of the game today is Michael Barrett. He is continuing to hit the ball hard and drive in runs. Here’s hoping he can make us forget about Pudge this year.
