I don’t know why I am so mad about this, but the Orioles have just signed Tejada. I knew the Cubs would not get him because we can’t deal our SS, but it still sucks. Maybe Alex will hit for average this year and make us forget the Tejada/A-Rod rumors. I sure hope so. In the beginning of the year last year, he was on a tear. He couldn’t be stopped. Maybe that will happen for the whole year this year. Anyways, still no Cubs news from the winter meetings. I really don’t expect there to be any either. I think we may add a few minor pieces and that is about it. No matter what, the team is better than last year. So there is room for optimism.

UPDATE: So much for Cruz Jr. as well. The D-Rays snatched him up as well. I didn’t think we would convince a gold glove OF to accept a back up role. I have added a new poll question. Please vote in the poll. Last question revealed that the readers would like to see an 8 team playoff for the NCAA instead of the BCS system. Almost 50% of the votes were for this.
