Talking Cubs Baseball Since 2003

December 2017

  • Buddy

If the years and the money are equal, or at least close, I’d take Darvish.

    • JTBarrett16

If everything was equal I would take Arrieta because he has low mileage on him and is a known commodity to the Cubs

  • Bill Affeldt

Arrieta but for just 4 years.

  • Jerry in Wisconsin

I want the pitcher who will sign for only 4 guaranteed years, and if it is Cobb for something south of 20M a year. Darvish and Arrieta have both proven to be great pitchers Cobb is not there. I don’t mind if there are option years, but the Cubs need to start developing some young guns to avoid having to pay guys who are too close to retirement. Just look at Lackey.

  • Karen Hirsh

I would take Arrieta definitely. He is a known entity.

  • I guess Yu.. you can’t pilates yourself a better fastball apparently.

  • Seymour Butts

Happy with either Yu or Jake.
What I will not be happy with is the rumored deal for Machado. Those 3 for one year of that 1 is far too much. Hopefully it will not become reality.

  • Jerry in Wisconsin

It looks like Morrow will be our close Davis is signing with the Rockies.

    • Ben

      52 million that’s a hefty price tag

      • Brad Lyerla

Way too high. Epstein/Hoyer know what they are doing.

  • Doc Raker

For some reason I think Cobb has more upside for the future. Jake and Yu won’t get any better but Cobb can.

  • It’s been another fun year with you bozos.. cheers VFTBuds.. here’s to 2018
